In December of each year the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas hosts a formal Swearing in Ceremony to welcome the new attorneys practicing law in our county. The ceremony takes place at the Monroe County Courthouse.
This year the Ceremony is tentatively scheduled for Friday, December 13, 2024, at 3:30 pm. We invite all attorneys new to our area to participate in the Swearing in Ceremony.

MCBA offers members the opportunity to participate on any number of committees. As an accredited provider of the Continuing Education Board of Pennsylvania, MCBA offers a variety of seminars.
A schedule of upcoming seminars is printed weekly in the Monroe Legal Reporter and can be found on the MCBA Events Calendar. Attorneys are encouraged to pre-register for classes with the PBI at 800.932.4637. Enrollment may also take place on the day of class and forms will be forwarded to the PBI by MCBA.
MCBA members receive free access to current and past journals through the "Members Only" section of our website. Members are not required to provide a deposit or pre-payment.
The Young Lawyers Division (YLD) is open to all member attorneys who are 40 years of age or less, or who have been admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania for less than three years. Community events such as Wills for Hero's, the annual blood drive in memory of Phil Mattes, and food drives are held throughout the year. The YLD sponsors events for young lawyers to acquaint its members with the practice of law in Monroe County by holding mentoring lunches, Meet the Judiciary events, and by encouraging volunteering at MCBA member and community events.

The Monroe County Bar Association is located in downtown Stroudsburg. Our Victorian-style building affords members a number of services.
Members and non-members may utilize our conference rooms for committee meetings, client conferences, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations. Arrangements can be made by calling 570.424.7288 or emailing info2@monroebar.org . Limited parking is available and we are handicapped accessible.
