Member Services and Benefits

The Monroe County Bar Association strives to provide a wide range of services to its members in assisting them to accomplish their goals of giving the highest quality legal services to the community.

Committees:
Each year, attorneys are encouraged to participate on a committee, or committees, to which they feel they can make a contribution. Committees are in various areas: Speaker Bureau/Public Education, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Public Relations and others.

Continuing Legal Education:
The Monroe County Bar Association is an accredited provider of the Continuing Legal Education Board of Pennsylvania. A variety of presentations is offered to members. All seminars are held at the bar center and include live presentations, live via satellite and video-taped programs. The seminars deal with general and specialized areas of the law.
A schedule of upcoming seminars is printed each week in the Monroe Legal Reporter and listed on this website. Attorneys are encouraged to preregister for classes with the Pennsylvania Bar Institute 1(800)932-4637. However, enrollment may take place on the day of class and forms will be forwarded to the PBI by the bar association.

Young Lawyers Division:
This division is open to all member attorneys who are 35 years of age or less, or who have been admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania for less than five years. The Young Lawyers Division sponsors several activities, such as KidCare and the annual blood drive, and makes an effort to acquaint its members with the practice of law in Monroe County.
