Biography: U.S. Marine Master Sgt. Robert Yarnall

LIBERTY BELL AWARD - given
annually by our bar association to an individual who, through
his or her actions, has demonstrated a commitment to the strengthening
of the American system of freedom, under law.
This year, it is my honor and privilege to declare U.S.
Marine Master Sgt. Robert Yarnall as the recipient of
this award.

Robert Yarnall
-Master Sergeant, United States Marine Corps
-Veteran of the Gulf War in 1990-1991
-21years in the Marines
-Has served in infantry, administrative, troop preparedness, and recruiting
roles, both active and reserve status; currently called up on active
duty for the second time in last three years, currently serving in
an administrative position at the Marine base at Quantico, Va. Former
Marine Corps Chief Recruiter for the Monroe County area.
-Compiling research and writing a book on the Battle of Fuluga during
the most recent Middle East war.
-Served as the Marine League Commandant and instrumental in organizing
and providing local Marines for flag ceremonies, parades, and funerals.
-Ran the Toys for Tots Program in Monroe County for the last 8 years.
Most recently, his assistant John Dixon, retired Marine Corps, ran
the program in 2006 due to Sergeant Yarnall's call up to Quantico.
Under Bob's leadership, the local Marines have solicited, collected,
sorted and distributed literally thousands of toys each year to area
agencies to distribute to children in the County.
-Previously helped organize and assisted the Wilkes-Barre area Toys
for Tots campaign in spare time while on active duty at that barracks.
-Volunteer-Monroe Cancer Society Relay for Life, youth soccer, baseball
and flag football coach, Stroud Twp. Zoning Hearing Board member,
active in Multiple Sclerosis charities.
-Gradate-Boyertown High School and East Stroudsburg University
-Social Studies teacher at the Monroe Career and Technical School
(Vo-Tech)
-Married to Lois Yarnall, teacher at the East Stroudsburg South High
School
-Four sons, Brandon(16), Cody(9), Brett (8) and Tyler (6).
-Lives Stroud Twp.
